Colposcopies
A colposcopy uses a special piece of equipment with a magnifying glass that allows the doctor to look at a woman's genitals (sex organs) to see if there are any problems. If so, the doctor will take a small sample of the problem area to review further under a microscope. A doctor may suggest a colposcopy if a woman has an abnormal Pap Smear.
You can learn more about colposcopies, how they are done and why they are done at WebMD. Please click the following link: http://www.webmd.com/cancer/cervical-cancer/colposcopy-and-cervical-biopsy. You may also call our office for more information.
