Medical Billing Specialist

Family Practice Associates has an opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist (25-30 hours per week).  This individual will work with insurance companies, and other staff and providers, to resolve claim rejections, denials, underpayments and overpayments; submit corrected claims and reconsiderations; manage aging claims reports to ensure follow-through; assist patients who have billing and insurance questions; answer questions from staff members; and assist in gathering information for Workers Compensation claims.  The ideal candidate should have 2-3 years of medical claims experience, with preference given to individuals who have worked in the primary care setting.

Skills and Abilities:

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong computer skills with experience in electronic health record and practice management systems
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Strong ability to prioritize duties, and follow-through in a timely manner
Excellent customer service skills and ability to develop relationships with both patients and payers
