Evaluation for RSV Symptoms

RSV can affect people of all ages. Some individuals, including infants, young children, and older adults, may need medical evaluation if symptoms develop. You may want to consider a clinic visit if your symptoms include:

• Persistent cough or wheezing
• Difficulty breathing or rapid breathing
• Fever
• Decreased appetite or difficulty feeding in infants
• Unusual tiredness or irritability

During a visit, a provider can review symptoms, perform a basic exam, and discuss possible next steps. When appropriate, testing or follow-up may be recommended.
